Do you have an antique or collectible and you don't know its value? Then plan to attend Stuart Brody's
For more than 200 years, Royal Bayreuth has been recognized as one of the finest producers of porcelain. As the oldest Bavarian porcelain-producing company, the Royal Bayreuth factory remains a formidable presence in the Bavarian village of Tettau.
Unlike the traditional utilitarian wares of the 1800s, Royal Bayreuth porcelain pieces portray decorative and whimsical figurals, such as fruits, flowers, and animal shapes. These figural pieces are highly sought after by Royal Bayreuth antique collectors.
In addition to the figural items, tapestry pieces are popular collectible items, too. The rose tapestry collection features baskets, creamers, vases, and dresser boxes. Scenic tapestry and non-tapestry scenics are among collectors' favorites, including the sunbonnet babies and holiday decors.

Stuart's Musings
Black Forest
Black Forest carvings, once thought to have come from the Bavarian Black Forest, were in fact, produced by wood carvers in Switzerland. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these gifted artisans plied their trade, creating splendid and oftentimes ornate carvings. The range of their creations was immense, ranging from the religious to the whimsical.
Black Forest carvings include bears and other forest creatures, cuckoo clocks, music boxes, as well as large and small furniture items. The linden tree was the preferred wood, as it is easy to carve; walnut was also widely used.
Swiss Black Forest carvings were considered great works of art. Items were exhibited at the London Great Exhibition of 1851, Chicago 1893, Paris 1900 and other international exhibitions during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Stuart Brody, president of Showcase Antique Center, Inc., has added real estate agent and auctioneer to his extensive and impressive list of credentials.
"Most people think real estate auctioneering has to do with distressed properties," said Stuart. "That is only one portion of the market. More and more people are turning to real estate auctions to sell their homes or commercial properties. Auction is ideal for inherited property, or when time is of the essence, such as in divorce settlements. Contents may be included in the auction as well."
And the benefits are numerous!
- Auction reduces the time the property is on the market.
- Auction eliminates numerous, unscheduled showings.
- Auction creates competition among buyers - auction prices can exceed the price of a negotiated sale.
- Auction takes the seller out of the negotiation process.
- Seller sets the terms and conditions of the sale.
- Seller knows exactly when the property will sell.
- The buyer pays the commission when a 7% to 10% buyer's premium is used. The high bid plus the buyer's premium becomes the total selling price.
- The seller pays no commission when a property is sold...only marketing costs are charged.
