A panel of three judges made "The Best of
Massachusetts" selections for Vogue after researching
thousands of businesses statewide. "We did our
homework," said Liz Brousell, spokesperson for the
special section. "For ‘The Best of Massachusetts'
our judges are careful to select companies with products
and services that are important to Vogue readers, who
are educated and style-conscious women. We chose
Showcase Antique Center because of the high quality of
their antiques and collectibles, and we were impressed
with the large inventory of items available through the
store's website, www.showcaseantiques.com."
"Collectors aren't the only ones buying antiques
these days," said Stuart Brody, owner of Showcase
Antiques Center. "Giving antiques as wedding gifts is
a growing trend and many interior decorators are using
vintage items as key pieces in room décor." Brody
attributes these trends in part to the success of public
television's "Antiques Roadshow" program.
Vogue magazine, with a national circulation of more
than one million, is published in New York by Condé
Nast, which also publishes Architectural Digest, House
& Garden, Bride's and numerous other magazines.
Showcase Antique Center, located on Rte. 20 at the
entrance to Old Sturbridge Village, carries thousands of
antiques, estate consignments and vintage collectibles
as well as fine art and furniture items from more than
200 dealers around the world.
